2016 Indy 500 rookie, Matt Brabham will arrive back into Australia for a whistlestop visit to take part in the Stadium Super Trucks event at the Clipsal 500 Adelaide, March 3-6.
Brabham is busy preparing to pilot the PIRTEK Team Murray #61 Chevrolet throughout the Month of May in Indianapolis including the 100th Indy 500.
This will be Brabham’s fifth Stadium Super Trucks event and once again will be part of the United Fiber & Data outfit put together by long time supporter and fellow competitor, Bill ‘The Thrill’ Hynes.
Straight after the Clipsal event, Brabham will jet back to Orlando, Florida to be present at the following week’s PIRTEK USA Annual Conference and attend the opening round of the Verizon IndyCar Series at St Petersburg.
Brabham has been training overtime in preparation for his commitments with PIRTEK Team Murray and has regularly been included in promotional activities by Indianapolis Motor Speedway as anticipation builds to the 100th running of the race.
The Stadium Super Trucks will give him a final chance to meet Australian fans prior to the 100th running of the biggest single day sporting event in the world.
“The response we’ve had since announcing that we’ll be running the Month of May with PIRTEK Team Murray has been incredible, but especially in Australia,” Brabham said from his Indianapolis home.
“The program as put together by Brett ‘Crusher’ Murray, PIRTEK USA and the team has received a terrific response from Aussie Motorsport fans and the industry, who all really feel as though they have some ownership of it.
“While the Stadium Super Truck is completely different to an IndyCar, it will probably the last chance I have to be in Australia before things get a bit crazy back in the States, so it will be a great opportunity to give back to the Aussie fans before we start our Indy quest.
“Bill (Hynes) has been a huge supporter of our program for some time now through United Fiber & Data – and it’s awesome that he’s asked me to join him again in Adelaide.”
Hynes took his first Stadium Super Trucks podium at Valvoline Raceway in October and has revelled in racing down under – and is looking forward to having Brabham alongside him once again.
“Matty’s one of the best young talents in the world right now and it is pretty cool that we can include him in our Stadium Super Trucks program,” said Hynes. “I was more thrilled than anyone when the announcement came about PIRTEK Team Murray in December. He’s worked hard at it and I’m sure he’ll do the best possible for the team.”
Major sponsor of Brabham’s Stadium Super Trucks appearance, United Fiber & Data (UFD) is a fiber optic and data centre company in the USA that was co-founded by Hynes and members of the multi-platinum rock band Līve.
Brabham’s intensive program in the leadup to the Indy race includes training daily, as well as taking the time to visit PIRTEK USA outlets and learn more about the US arm of the Australian founded franchise business.
PIRTEK is using the program with Team Murray and the Indianapolis 500 to highlight its expansion in the US market. Currently, PIRTEK holds 58 franchises around the United States and is looking to double that in the coming 12-24 months.
PIRTEK Team Murray has also signed an arrangement with the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation as the team’s official Foundation. A range of initiatives surrounding that partnership will be unveiled in the coming weeks by Team Ambassador and wife of the American Sniper, Chris Kyle – Taya Kyle.
The Stadium Super Trucks wowed Australia 12 months ago upon arriving at Clipsal and then went on to hold successful events on the Gold Coast, at Valvoline Raceway in Sydney and then the Sydney 500.
